  Focus on flood control, healthcare, infrastructure and civic development Agartala, 23 April 2025: The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Wednesday presented a deficit budget of ₹72.02 lakh for the financial year 2025–26. The budget was tabled by Mayor Deepak Majumder during a session held at the Corporation’s conference hall. As per the proposal, the total projected revenue and capital income for 2025–26 is ₹475.83 crore, against an estimated expenditure of ₹476.55 crore, resulting in a deficit of ₹72.02 lakh. In comparison, the 2024–25 budget had an income estimate of ₹415.97 crore and an expenditure estimate of ₹416.74 crore, with a deficit of ₹76.75 lakh. The increase in both income and expenditure has been attributed to the launch of several ambitious development projects. To assess the pace of progress and ensure effective execution, a high-level visit was conducted today to the Agartala Smart City Limited office located within the Urban Development (UD) Building.
