Minister Tinku Roy Distributes Agricultural Equipment Under SMAM Scheme

  In a significant move to boost agricultural productivity, Tripura’s Minister of Social Welfare and Sports, Sri Tinku Roy, participated in an agricultural machinery distribution programme held at Chandipur Block Office under the centrally sponsored SMAM (Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation) scheme. The event was organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, in collaboration with the Gournagar Agricultural Subdivision. As part of the initiative, various modern agricultural tools and machinery such as power tillers, paddy threshers, spades, weeders, and sprayers were distributed among local farmers. CPI-M Protests Against U.S. Vice President’s Visit, Burns Effigy

The CPI-M staged a protest and burned an effigy of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance during his key visit to India. The demonstration was held in response to concerns over possible trade deals in the agriculture sector. Protesters held placards opposing any move to allow U.S. companies open market access to sell meat, fish, and dairy products in India. They warned such decisions could severely impact Indian farmers and local producers. The CPI-M accused the U.S. of pushing aggressive trade policies and demanded protection for India’s agricultural self-reliance and food sovereignty.

Tripura Showcases Cultural Grandeur at Garia & Borsho Boron Festival

  In a vibrant celebration of Tripura’s cultural harmony and indigenous heritage, the state-level Garia and Borsho Boron Utsav was inaugurated on Sunday at the Swami Vivekananda Ground in Agartala. Organised by the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA), this two-day festival highlights the state's commitment to preserving its diverse traditions through art, music, and dance.
