Agartala, 14 April 2025: To ensure a peaceful and safe celebration of "Poila Boishakh", the Bengali New Year, the Tripura Police have stepped up security measures across the state. Following the directions of the IGP (Law & Order) and respective district police authorities, multiple naka checkpoints have been established in key locations. Police personnel are conducting intensive checking of vehicles and individuals as part of precautionary measures. The initiative aims to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents during the festive celebrations on 15th April. Officials stated that these security checks will continue throughout the night and into the next day. 14th  April 2025, Agartala: A special tribute was paid to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Ujjayanta Palace, Agartala, Tripura, as part of a commemorative event held in the morning hours. The programme was organised near the statue of Dr. Ambedkar located on the palace premises — a historically significant site built in 1901 that once served as the seat of the royal Manikya dynasty and later functioned as the Tripura Legislative Assembly until 2011. Today, the palace stands as the Tripura State Museum, preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage. The programme was graced by the Honourable Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, along with Social Welfare Minister Mala Mina Rani Sarkar, Minister Sudhangshu Das, and senior officials from the Youth Affairs Department and the Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Department.
