Agartala, April 08, 2025: Amidst growing concerns over rising fuel prices, the cost of domestic LPG cylinders has been hiked by ₹50 across the country, with the new prices effective from last night. In Tripura , the cost of a standard domestic LPG cylinder has increased from ₹928 to ₹978 , adding further burden to households already grappling with inflation and high prices of essential commodities. The price hike comes at a time when the prices of petrol and diesel have also shown a consistent upward trend, putting pressure on middle-class families and economically weaker sections. Many residents of Agartala expressed frustration over the sudden hike, stating that the increased cost of cooking gas will directly affect their monthly budgets and lead to higher kitchen expenses.
