  Agartala, April 5: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha made a surprise inspection visit to IGM Hospital and the Agartala Government Dental College on Friday, aiming to assess healthcare services and infrastructure first-hand. Holding the Health portfolio, Dr. Saha interacted directly with doctors, nurses, and hospital staff, stressing the importance of closing any gaps in patient care and improving service delivery. IGM Hospital, located in the heart of Agartala, is one of the oldest and busiest hospitals in the state. Repeat Offender Nabbed with 2,000 Yaba Tablets in Agartala

Agartala, April 5: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Agartala West Police detained a habitual offender, Mangal Deep Biswas, late Thursday night from the Battala Market area for possession of a large quantity of Yaba tablets. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials seized approximately 2,000 Yaba tablets from Biswas, with the market value estimated at over ₹2.5 lakh. According to SDPO Debprasad Roy, the accused is a repeat offender and had previously been convicted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in 2023. He has now been arrested once again for his alleged involvement in drug peddling activities. Police confirmed that the accused will be produced before the court on Friday, where a remand plea will be filed for further investigation.
