Unakoti Ashokashtami Fair Begins with Grandeur and Devotion

  Agartala, April 4, 2025: The sacred pilgrimage site of Unakoti transformed into a vibrant centre of devotion and tradition as the much-awaited Ashokashtami Fair commenced today. Thousands of devotees gathered to witness the grand inauguration, which was attended by Cabinet Minister for Social Welfare & Social Education, Youth Affairs & Sports, and Labour Department, Shri Tinku Roy, along with several dignitaries. The event reflected the deep-rooted spiritual and cultural heritage of the region. Tripura CM Inaugurates Brahmakunda Mela, Announces ₹14 Crore for Development

  Agartala, April 4, 2025: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today reaffirmed the state government's commitment to preserving the traditions and cultural heritage of Tripura’s indigenous communities. He announced that ₹14 crore has been sanctioned for the beautification and further development of the Brahmakunda Mela premises. The Chief Minister made this announcement while inaugurating the Brahmakunda Mela at Simna in Mohanpur Sub-Division under the West Tripura district. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saha highlighted the deep cultural significance of the fair, stating, “Brahmakunda Mela is an age-old tradition, held twice a year, where people perform religious rites in remembrance of their ancestors. Earlier, many devotees from Bangladesh used to attend, but due to the current circumstances, their participation has reduced.
