  Tripura's Youth Showcase Sporting Spirit Despite Challenges The State Level Sports Talent Search Program 2024-25 was successfully inaugurated on March 21, 2025, at the Umakanta Academy premises in Agartala despite road strikes organized by a political party. The three-day event, scheduled from March 21 to 23, aims to discover hidden sporting talents across Tripura in various disciplines including Athletics, Football (for 10-year-old boys and girls), Kabaddi, and Kho-Kho (for 14-year-old boys and girls). The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished personalities including the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sri Tinku Roy; Secretary of Sports Council, Sri Sukanta Ghosh; Mayor and MLA, Sri Dipak Majumder; and Padma Shri awardee Dipa Karmakar.   The 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly commenced its budget session on Friday, March 21, 2025, marking a significant moment in the state's economic planning for the upcoming fiscal year. Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy presented the state budget for 2025-26, with proceedings attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Speaker Biswabandhu Sen, cabinet members, and MLAs from both the ruling and opposition parties. Agartala, March 21: The Tipra Students Federation (TSF) intensified its long-standing demand for the adoption of the Roman script for the Kokborok language by blocking key roads in Agartala on Friday. The protest, which coincided with the commencement of the Tripura Legislative Assembly session, caused significant disruption to public life, drawing criticism from citizens and raising questions about the administration’s handling of the situation.   The TSF, supported by regional parties and youth organizations, has been advocating for the Roman script for Kokborok for years. Following the Kokborok language examination on March 17, the group submitted a deputation to the Tripura Board of Secondary Education. Agartala, March 21: Bharatiya Vidya Mandir (BTVM) recently organized a seven-day NSS Special Camp under the guidance of Principal Smt. Swapna Shome. The camp, aimed at instilling social responsibility and community service among students, saw enthusiastic participation from selected Class 11 students.
