On March 12, 2025, the East Agartala Police Station carried out a successful operation, arresting 4 drug dealers. According to the police, around 14 grams of heroin, a bike, a scooter, and an auto-rickshaw were seized during the operation. The police stat ed that the arrested drug dealers were selling drugs in various areas of Agartala city. Cases have been filed against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and they are currently under remand for investigation. The police have announced plans to increase such operations to curb the drug trade and ensure the safety of the city's residents.
