Police Return Stolen Gold Chain to Elderly Victim in Agartala

In a successful resolution to a chain-snatching case, the West Agartala Police have recovered and returned a stolen gold chain to its rightful owner, Shankari Sen, an elderly resident of the Kamanachowmuhani area. The incident, which occurred on November 10, 2025, had caused significant concern in the local community. The victim was targeted during her morning walk between 7:00 and 7:30 AM when the accused, operating a tom-tom (auto-rickshaw), snatched her gold chain. Ms. Sen immediately reported the incident to the West Agartala Police Station, where a case was registered under Sections 153/02024 and 304 of the Indian Penal Code. Through swift investigation and coordinated efforts, the police successfully apprehended the accused, identified as Debrata Das.
