Tripura Finance Minister Distributes Appointment Letters, Highlights Government's Transparent Hiring and Small Savings Success
Agartala, April 19:
In a significant move aimed at strengthening the state’s administrative workforce, Tripura’s Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy handed over appointment letters to 11 individuals at a ceremonial event held on Saturday at the PN Complex in Gorkhabasti. The new appointees will serve in various roles within the Finance Department, including small savings, group insurance, and institutional finance inspection.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Roy reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to filling vacant posts across departments. Acknowledging public concerns regarding delays in recruitment, he assured that appointments are being carried out transparently and in strict compliance with established rules and regulations. He added that the government is taking every precaution to ensure that no one suffers job loss due to administrative faults.
Highlighting key financial developments, the Minister stated that there are currently no chit funds functioning in Tripura. The assets of illegal chit fund operators have been confiscated and sold, with the proceeds deposited into a state fund. This money will be redistributed to those who were duped, providing some relief to affected citizens.
In terms of the small savings scheme, the state has surpassed its target for the fiscal year 2024–25. Against a target of ₹1,024 crore, the state successfully mobilised ₹1,075 crore. Minister Roy credited this achievement to the dedicated efforts of 1,119 SAS (Standardised Agency System) agents and 2,247 MPKBY (Mahila Pradhan Kshetriya Bachat Yojana) agents working across Tripura.
The event was also graced by Finance Department Secretary Apurba Roy and other senior officials, marking a moment of positive engagement between the state administration and new government employees.
