Tripura Olympic Association Conducts Extra Ordinary General Meeting, Four Key Resolutions Adopted

 





Agartala, 25 April 2025:
The Extra Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the Tripura Olympic Association (TOA) was successfully held today at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Yuba Awas, Khejurbagan, under the supervision of the Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) Tripura Adhoc Committee. Representatives from various state-level sports associations participated in the meeting, alongside two official observers from the Tripura Sports Council and the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports.



Following detailed discussions, four major resolutions were unanimously adopted:

  1. Recognition of TOA as the Apex Sports Body: The TOA was reaffirmed as the apex sports organisation in Tripura, recognised by the Tripura Sports Council and the Youth Affairs Department. The association was registered on 4th January 1982 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (Reg. No. SR: 967).

  2. Functioning as per Constitution: It was resolved that the activities of the TOA Executive Committee and its office bearers will be conducted strictly in accordance with its constitution and the rules approved by the concerned authorities.

  3. Elections for the 2025–2029 Term: The Executive Committee elections for the 2025–2029 term will be held under the supervision of a Returning Officer (RO).

  4. Approval of RO and ARO Appointments: The appointments of the RO and Assistant RO, as nominated by the IOA-Adhoc Committee Chairman on 8th April 2025, were officially approved by the house.

The meeting commenced with a two-minute silence in honour of the brave Indian soldiers who lost their lives in the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack. IOA-Adhoc Committee Chairman Mr. John F. Kharshiing expressed heartfelt gratitude to all delegates and extended special thanks to the State Government for its support before formally concluding the meeting.
