Agartala, April 12, 2025: CM Manik Saha Graces Chakma Community’s Grand Bizu Festival in Gomati District

Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today took part in the vibrant celebration of the 23rd State-Level Buisu Festival at Bashi Chandra Para School Ground, Jalea, in Tripura’s Gomati district. Organised by Tripura Chubulai Buthu, the festival is the biggest annual cultural occasion for the Chakma community, marking their traditional New Year with joy, colour, and unity.



The event witnessed participation from key dignitaries including Minister Shukla Charan Nowatiya, Member of Parliament Rebati Tripura, Minister Bikas Debbarma, along with other respected community leaders. They extended greetings to the community and praised the rich cultural heritage reflected through the festivities.


CM Dr. Saha, while addressing the gathering, stated that the state government is working tirelessly for the all-round development of Tripura’s 20 indigenous Janajati communities, especially in preserving their unique traditions and cultural identities. He encouraged the younger generation to stay connected to their roots and uphold their ancestral customs.


The Chief Minister also announced that he would inaugurate the 51st State-Level Bizu Mela at Laxmindar Para, Chawmanu in Longtharai Valley subdivision of Dhalai District, underscoring the government’s commitment to cultural inclusion and unity in diversity.
