Kailashahar, March 11, 2025: Kailashahar police station officers have arrested two youths in possession of brown sugar during a significant operation. Based on information from a confidential source, police conducted a raid at a checkpoint in the Chinibagan area late at night. The arrested individuals were presented before the Kailashahar court on Wednesday afternoon.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sukanta Sen Chowdhury of Kailashahar police station reported that police positioned themselves at a checkpoint in the Chinibagan area after receiving a tip from a secret informant. At around 2 AM, two youths were approaching on a motorcycle. When police stopped them for inspection, they discovered brown sugar neatly hidden inside five soap boxes. The illegal drugs were seized, and the youths were immediately arrested.
Police further revealed that the estimated market value of the recovered brown sugar is approximately four lakh taka. This significant seizure highlights growing concerns about drug trafficking in the region, particularly the smuggling of brown sugar. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the arrested individuals, and authorities have promised to take appropriate measures according to the law.
OC Sukanta Sen Chowdhury expressed satisfaction with the operation's success, emphasizing the importance of maintaining vigilance and taking swift action against illegal activities. Local sources indicate that trafficking of brown sugar and various other narcotics has increased in this area recently.
