Today, on the occasion of the 190th birth anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna, a special puja has been organised at Dhaleshwar Ramakrishna Ashram in Agartala. Devotees gathered early in the morning to participate in the rituals, which included Vedic chanting, bhajans, and aarti. The ashram premises resonated with spiritual fervour as monks and followers offered prayers to Sri Ramakrishna, seeking his blessings for peace and harmony.
Sri Ramakrishna, born on 18 February 1836 in Kamarpukur, West Bengal, was a revered mystic and spiritual leader who preached the unity of all religions. His teachings laid the foundation for the Ramakrishna Mission, established by his chief disciple, Swami Vivekananda. He emphasised devotion, selfless service, and the realisation of God through sincere faith, inspiring millions worldwide.
As part of the celebrations, devotees engaged in discourses on Sri Ramakrishna’s philosophy, followed by prasad distribution. The ashram authorities highlighted his enduring spiritual legacy and its relevance in today’s world. The event concluded with the chanting of hymns, leaving a sense of divine serenity among the attendees.
