Agartala, 31 March: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha inaugurated the Rotary Anna Yojana at GB Pant Hospital, aiming to provide affordable meals to patients' families. The initiative, launched through a joint effort of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti and the Rotary Club, will offer lunch at just ₹10 to ensure that families of patients receive proper nutrition while attending to their loved ones.
Announcing the scheme on his official Facebook page, the Chief Minister stated, "Rotary Anna Yojana has been introduced at GB Pant Hospital to arrange midday meals for the families of patients. This initiative, jointly organised by Rogi Kalyan Samiti and the Rotary Club, will serve lunch for just ₹10. I extend my congratulations to everyone involved in this noble effort."
The initiative is expected to greatly benefit economically weaker sections, ensuring they do not go hungry while caring for their family members in the hospital. The low-cost canteen facility is part of the government’s commitment to improving healthcare and patient welfare in the state.
