Agartala, March 21: Bharatiya Vidya Mandir (BTVM) recently organized a seven-day NSS Special Camp under the guidance of Principal Smt. Swapna Shome. The camp, aimed at instilling social responsibility and community service among students, saw enthusiastic participation from selected Class 11 students. The initiative was designed to promote personal growth and a sense of duty towards society.
The camp was inaugurated by Si Prabal Kanti Deb, TCS, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Tripura, and Tripura State NSS Nodal Officer. Distinguished guests, including Sri Suman Banik, a National Awardee and NSS Program Officer of Madhuban Dukli School, and Sri Debashis Chakraborty, Retired IFS and Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), graced the occasion.
Over the seven days, students engaged in a variety of activities aimed at fostering social welfare and holistic development. These included a cleanliness drive, awareness programs, social initiatives, excursions, and a visit to a brickfield. The students also distributed care packs to the underprivileged, participated in cultural events, sports activities, and attended sessions on art and creativity. These activities not only enhanced their skills but also strengthened their sense of community and empathy.
The camp concluded with a closing ceremony attended by Dr. Sabyasachi Nath, State Forensic Scientist at the State Science Laboratory in Narsingarh, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Rajat Dey, Principal of BTCTE, as a special guest. Sri Debashis Chakraborty was also present. During the ceremony, students were awarded prizes for their outstanding performances in various competitions held during the camp. The NSS Program Officer of the school delivered the vote of thanks, marking the end of a successful and impactful event.
The NSS Special Camp not only achieved its goal of promoting community service but also left a lasting impression on the students, equipping them with valuable life skills and a deeper understanding of their role in society. The event concluded on a high note, reflecting the spirit of unity and personal growth among the participants.
