The Bhumi Pujan ceremony for the construction of a new market shed was held at Dashamighat, Agartala. The event took place on Sunday in South Joynagar under Ward No. 34, with Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder attending as the chief guest.
Under this project, 16 shop units will be constructed at a cost of approximately ₹65 lakh. The initiative aims to provide a better commercial environment for local traders and improve business infrastructure in the area.
Several dignitaries were present at the ceremony, including Ward No. 34 Corporator Nitu Guha Dey, Corporator Nibas Das, Corporator Manoj Kanti Deb Roy, and other officials. They highlighted the importance of the project, stating that it would contribute to the economic development of the locality.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Dipak Majumder reaffirmed AMC’s commitment to urban development and improving business facilities in Agartala. He mentioned that additional initiatives are being planned to enhance opportunities for traders and provide them with a safe and modern marketplace.
Local residents and traders welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that the new market infrastructure would bring positive changes to the business environment.
