5 Arrested for Gambling in Agartala



Agartala, March 10, 2025

In a crackdown on illegal gambling, the A.D. Nagar police arrested five individuals from the Kalyanpur area under the A.D. Nagar police station. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the spot and seized various gambling materials, including a deck of cards and cash amounting to Rs. 5,960.

The arrested individuals were produced before the media, and the details of the operation were shared by Koushik Bijoy Das, Officer-in-Charge of the A.D. Nagar police station.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are looking into the involvement of other individuals in the illegal gambling racket. The arrested individuals will be produced in court and charged under relevant sections of the law.

The crackdown on illegal gambling is part of the police's efforts to maintain law and order in the city and to prevent illegal activities.
