Agartala: Police Seize Massive Haul of Yaba Tablets, Arrest Three

Agartala: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the West Agartala Police conducted a raid at the residence of Mohammad Babul Mia in Chandinamura and seized a massive quantity of Yaba tablets. Acting on a tip-off, the police, led by the Sadar Subdivision Police Officer and the Officer-in-Charge of West Police Station, recovered over one lakh Yaba tablets, estimated to be worth approximately ₹5 crore in the market. During the operation, three individuals—Mohammad Babul Mia, Shipon Hossain, and Sanjay Mia—were arrested. The police also confiscated several mobile phones and two motorcycles from the suspects. A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, as confirmed by West District Police Superintendent Kiran Kumar. Agartala, Mar 05: More than 500 employees working under the Tripura Vidyut Nigam through a private company, Advanced Route Technology Information Private Limited, staged a protest on Wednesday outside their employer’s office in Joy Nagar. The workers, who have been employed by the company for the past two years, raised serious concerns over the non-payment of their salaries for the last five months. According to the protesting employees, they have only received partial payments during this period, with one month’s salary being disbursed sporadically instead of clearing the full backlog of dues. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue with company officials, no concrete steps have been taken to address their grievances.
