Traffic Department Launches Crackdown on Illegal Parking in GB Market Area

Agartala, Feb 17: The Traffic Department has launched a joint operation to tackle the persistent traffic congestion in the bustling GB market area. Led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Sudhambika R, IPS, the initiative aims to curb the rampant illegal parking of cars, motorbikes, and scooters, which has been causing severe traffic jams and disrupting the smooth flow of vehicles. Officer Sudhambika R highlighted the growing problem of haphazard parking, which not only blocks streets but also exacerbates congestion in the already crowded market area.

As part of the enforcement drive, the Traffic Department has issued notices to vehicle owners found violating parking regulations. These individuals have been warned about the illegality of their actions, with authorities making it clear that strict legal action will be taken against repeat offenders. Officer Sudhambika R emphasized that the primary objective of the operation is to eliminate traffic bottlenecks and ensure the streets remain accessible for all commuters and pedestrians.

The Traffic Department has also announced plans to continue similar enforcement actions in the coming days to address the issue more comprehensively. The authorities are committed to improving traffic management in the area and fostering better parking habits among drivers. This operation serves as a stern reminder to vehicle owners about the importance of responsible parking to maintain a congestion-free environment.

The initiative, spearheaded by Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Sudhambika R, reflects the department’s dedication to ensuring smoother traffic flow and enhancing the overall commuting experience in Agartala. The GB market area, being a key commercial hub, requires sustained efforts to manage traffic effectively, and the ongoing operation is a significant step in that direction. The Traffic Department urges all citizens to cooperate and adhere to parking regulations to contribute to a safer and more organized traffic system.
