RBI Organizes Financial Literacy Program for Women’s Empowerment in Agartala

Agartala, February 24: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) organized a significant program on financial literacy and women’s empowerment at Hotel Polo Towers in the capital on Monday. The event was inaugurated by Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, who emphasized the importance of financial education in empowering women to make informed decisions and manage their finances effectively.

In his address, Governor Nallu highlighted the evolution of the banking system, noting that access to credit has become simpler and more accessible today compared to the past, when guarantees were often required. He praised the role of self-help groups (SHGs) in facilitating loans for women, enabling them to start businesses and achieve financial independence.

The program showcased the RBI’s commitment to promoting financial literacy and ensuring that women have the tools and resources to navigate the banking system. It also aimed to raise awareness about various government schemes designed to support women’s economic empowerment.

Through such initiatives, the RBI seeks to contribute to the broader goal of achieving gender equality and empowering women in all spheres of life. The event marked a significant step in fostering financial independence and creating opportunities for women to thrive economically.
