Agartala: The renovation work of MB Tilla Market in the capital city Agartala is progressing at a swift pace. On Wednesday, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing renovation work at the market.
During the Mayor's inspection, he was accompanied by Municipal Commissioner Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Ward No. 39 Corporator Alok Roy, and other dignitaries. During the inspection, Mayor Dipak Majumder informed journalists that the first phase of the market construction, being built at a cost of 1 crore 75 lakh rupees, is expected to be completed by April this year.
The Mayor further explained, "This market construction was supposed to be completed earlier. However, the contractor who was initially assigned the responsibility failed to complete the work within the stipulated time. Consequently, a new tender was floated, and a new contractor was assigned the responsibility for this project."
Currently, work is progressing rapidly under the supervision of the new contractor. The Mayor mentioned that once the renovation of MB Tilla Market is completed, it will significantly benefit both buyers and sellers in the area. He expressed hope that this project would play an important role in developing the city's commercial infrastructure by creating a modern and clean marketplace.
Corporator Alok Roy said, "After the completion of MB Tilla Market renovation, residents of this area will find it much more convenient to purchase their daily necessities. Simultaneously, the market traders will have the opportunity to conduct business in a clean and well-organized environment."
Local residents are showing keen interest in whether the market renovation work will be completed within the scheduled timeframe. The completion of this project is expected to enhance the commercial activities in the area while providing improved facilities for traders and customers alike.
The MB Tilla Market renovation project represents one of several infrastructure improvement initiatives being undertaken by the Agartala Municipal Corporation to modernize the city's public facilities and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
