Four Arrested for Selling Drugs Near Schools in Agartala



Agartala, February 24: Acting on a tip-off, the East Police Station arrested four individuals yesterday for allegedly selling drugs near schools and colleges in the city. The suspects were apprehended from areas near Anandamayi Ashram and College Tila Lake.

Police recovered 5.2 grams of heroin packed in 210 small plastic containers, along with ₹4,000 in cash, two mobile phones, and a motorcycle (registration number TR-01-AT-6646) used by the accused. The seized heroin is estimated to be worth over ₹1 lakh in the market, according to Sadar SDPO Debprasad Roy.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Robin Deb Nath, Ramjan Ali, Deepak Das, and Rubel Sarkar. Authorities suspect they were targeting students and young people near educational institutions.



This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Tripura Police to curb drug trafficking and ensure the safety of students. Further investigations are underway to uncover the broader network involved in the illegal drug trade.
