Dr. Archana Majumdar Highlights Women and Child Welfare Issues in Tripura



Agartala, February 20: Dr. Archana Majumdar, a member of the National Commission for Women, held a press conference at the State Guest House on Thursday, addressing critical issues related to child abuse, government welfare schemes, and infrastructure for women and children in Tripura.

During the conference, Dr. Majumdar discussed the implementation of various central and state government schemes, identifying challenges and areas requiring improvement. She acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for mothers and women, expressing gratitude for the nationwide benefits these programs have brought. However, she emphasized the need for better coordination and more effective measures to address the specific needs of women and children in Tripura.

Dr. Majumdar also highlighted the role of the Tripura State Women’s Commission, noting its current impact and the necessity for enhanced efforts to tackle women’s issues. She stressed the importance of improving welfare infrastructure, combating child abuse, and ensuring that government schemes reach their intended beneficiaries effectively.

Her suggestions included strengthening collaboration between central and state governments, streamlining program implementation, and ensuring accountability. Dr. Majumdar concluded by reaffirming her commitment to improving the welfare of women and children and enhancing the efforts of the Women’s Commission in the future.
