Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Organized at A D Nagar

  A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at the Arundhatinagar Ward Office under the initiative of Agartala Municipal Corporation's Ward No. 39. The event was attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Deepak Majumdar, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, South Zone Corporator and Secretary of AMC Abhijit Mallik, along with other Mandal-level BJP workers and social activists.  Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha honored the blood donors, praising their humanitarian efforts. Four Arrested for Selling Drugs Near Schools in Agartala

Agartala, February 24: Acting on a tip-off, the East Police Station arrested four individuals yesterday for allegedly selling drugs near schools and colleges in the city. The suspects were apprehended from areas near Anandamayi Ashram and College Tila Lake. Police recovered 5.2 grams of heroin packed in 210 small plastic containers, along with ₹4,000 in cash, two mobile phones, and a motorcycle (registration number TR-01-AT-6646) used by the accused. The seized heroin is estimated to be worth over ₹1 lakh in the market, according to Sadar SDPO Debprasad Roy. The arrested individuals have been identified as Robin Deb Nath, Ramjan Ali, Deepak Das, and Rubel Sarkar. Authorities suspect they were targeting students and young people near educational institutions. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Tripura Police to curb drug trafficking and ensure the safety of students. Massive Fire Breaks Out in Durgapur, Agartala; Three Injured

  Agartala, February 24: A devastating fire broke out in the rented house of police personnel Dilip Sarkar in the Durgapur area near Tripura University today. The blaze caused injuries to tenants Sukanta Sarkar, Bipasha Malla Sarkar, and their son Aditya, who were promptly admitted to a local hospital for treatment. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started under unknown circumstances but intensified after a gas cylinder inside the house exploded. The flames spread rapidly, engulfing the entire house and reducing all belongings, including an auto-rickshaw, to ashes. Upon receiving the alert, the fire department rushed to the scene and, after several hours of effort, managed to bring the fire under control.
