Tripura marked a significant achievement in its organic farming sector with the successful export of 2,000 kilograms of Bird's Eye Chilli to Vishakhapatnam. The milestone event was attended by Minister of State for Agriculture, Sri Ratan Lal Nath, who highlighted the growing market presence of this premium product in various retail outlets and malls, where it is available both in packaged form and by weight.
Despite facing production challenges due to flooding this year, the state managed to meet export commitments, demonstrating the resilience of its agricultural sector. The Minister emphasized that while Tripura has previously established itself in the export market with products like the Queen Pineapple, this new venture into Bird's Eye Chilli exports represents an important step in diversifying the state's organic export portfolio.
The successful export of Bird's Eye Chilli not only showcases Tripura's capability in organic farming but also opens new avenues for agricultural commerce. Looking ahead, Minister Nath expressed optimism about increasing production capacity to meet the rising demand for this spicy delicacy, indicating the state's commitment to strengthening its position in the organic produce market while supporting local farmers and agricultural development.
