Students and Teachers Organise Blood Donation Camp at Rajnagar Higher Secondary School

A blood donation camp was organised as part of the seven-day annual National Service Scheme (NSS) camp at Rajnagar Higher Secondary School. Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumdar inaugurated the event, which was attended by notable dignitaries including Corporator Nitu Guha De, nominated Corporator Dr Manoj Kanti Ray, and ISKCON Mission's Head Priest Sridham Govinda Das, among others.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showed remarkable spirit throughout the event. Speaking to journalists, Mayor Deepak Majumdar emphasised that such camps serve multiple educational purposes alongside the primary objective of blood donation. He noted that these initiatives help future nation-builders understand their civic responsibilities.

"Those who are donating blood today are performing the noblest service to humanity," the Mayor stated. He added that such activities foster a sense of social responsibility among young people, encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to society in the future.

ISKCON Mission's Maharaj Sridham Govinda Das shared his perspectives on the significance of the camp in addressing contemporary social challenges. He observed that today's youth often experience isolation and loneliness. "Through blood donation, we are teaching these young people about their responsibilities towards society," he explained. The Maharaj emphasised that such initiatives help develop a service-oriented mindset among students and inspire them to work towards positive social change.

The blood donation camp not only served its immediate purpose of collecting blood but also succeeded in creating awareness about social responsibility among students. It demonstrated how educational institutions can play a crucial role in nurturing civic consciousness and community service values among young people, while simultaneously contributing to public health initiatives.

The event exemplified the successful integration of educational activities with social service, setting a positive example for other institutions to follow.
