The State-Level Women Welfare Conclave with NGOs for Impactful Change was inaugurated by Shri Tinku Roy, Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education, at Pragna Bhawan in Agartala. The event marked a significant step towards addressing critical women's welfare issues in the state.

In his inaugural address, Minister Roy took a firm stance on teenage pregnancies, announcing that pregnancies in women under 19 years of age would be ineligible for government benefits. This policy decision reflects the government's commitment to deterring early marriages and pregnancies, which often lead to adverse health and social outcomes for young women.

The Minister emphasized the urgent need to combat child marriages through increased awareness and community engagement. He highlighted the role of NGOs and social organizations in reaching out to vulnerable communities and educating them about the negative implications of early marriages and teenage pregnancies.

A key highlight of the conclave was the discussion of the Mukhyamantri Talent Search Programme, an initiative aimed at empowering women and young girls through skill development and educational opportunities. The programme represents a strategic approach to building capacity and creating sustainable pathways for women's advancement in society.

The conclave served as a collaborative platform, bringing together various NGOs and stakeholders to formulate effective strategies for social change. Participants engaged in discussions about implementing welfare initiatives across the state, focusing on creating measurable impact in communities.

This gathering of social welfare organizations and government representatives demonstrated a unified approach to addressing women's issues, emphasizing the importance of partnership between government agencies and grassroots organizations in achieving meaningful social transformation.
