Protest in Tripura Over Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh




Agartala saw a significant protest on Monday, where demonstrators voiced their concerns over increasing violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Activists burned an effigy of Bangladesh's Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, condemning the reported failure of his interim government to safeguard minorities. The demonstration highlighted the rising number of attacks on Hindus, with incidents of looting, arson, and killings documented since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's regime.



According to reports, over 2,000 communal violence incidents have occurred under the Yunus administration. Transparency International Bangladesh recently published findings accusing the government of neglecting to investigate crimes against minorities and failing to punish perpetrators. Protesters demanded immediate intervention from the Indian government and called for raising the issue on international platforms.

The protest reflected solidarity with the Hindu community in Bangladesh, urging stronger measures to ensure their safety and uphold minority rights. The event underscored concerns over the growing influence of extremist groups in Bangladesh and the dire need for justice and reform.

The ongoing crisis has drawn international attention, with calls for protective measures intensifying from various human rights groups. Protesters in Agartala demanded accountability from the Yunus government and a global commitment to protecting minorities in the region.
