First Death Anniversary of Veteran BJP Leader Surajit Datta Commemorated in Ramnagar






The Ramnagar Mandal organized various programs today to mark the first death anniversary of veteran BJP leader and former Tripura minister Surajit Datta. The commemorative events saw significant participation from local political leaders and community members who gathered to pay their respects to the late leader.


Several booths across the constituency and the Mandal office became centers of remembrance as attendees offered floral tributes at Datta's portrait. Among the prominent dignitaries present at the ceremony were current Ramnagar MLA Deepak Majumder, Corporator Snigdha Das Deb, Mandal President Amitabh Bhattacharjee, and former President Tapas Kumar Deb.


Surajit Datta, who passed away on December 27, 2023, left behind a remarkable political legacy in Tripura's political landscape. His career was distinguished by his seven terms as an MLA, representing his constituents' interests for nearly three decades. As a senior BJP leader and former minister, he played a crucial role in shaping the state's political discourse and development.


Datta's final days were marked by health complications, particularly kidney-related ailments, which led to his treatment at a private hospital in Kolkata. He passed away at the age of 70, leaving a void in the state's political sphere. The widespread participation in his first death anniversary observations reflects the deep respect he commanded among both political colleagues and the public, and his lasting impact on Ramnagar's political landscape.
