ARUNDHUTINAGAR, Tripura - The State Government's Panchayat Department inaugurated its Annual People's Plan Campaign on November 21st, setting a new benchmark in participatory development strategies.
In a landmark ceremony at Gram Swaraj Bhavan, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha unveiled four pivotal publications and transformed the Panchayat Raj Training Center into the State Panchayat Resource Center, symbolizing a commitment to innovative local governance.
The event celebrated grassroots achievements through strategic awards recognizing excellence in:
- Panchayat Development Index
- E-Office Implementation
- Smart Panchayat Office Initiatives
Department Secretary Dr. Sandeep R. Rathod emphasized the transformative potential of Gram Sabha, Mahila Sabha, and Shishu Sabha, calling for comprehensive community engagement in development planning.
Chief Minister Saha's vision extends beyond local boundaries, positioning Tripura's Panchayat system as a potential national model aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He stressed the importance of continuous learning and training for newly formed Panchayat bodies.
With approximately 750 public representatives and officials in attendance, the campaign launch signaled a robust, inclusive approach to rural development, marking a significant step in Tripura's governance evolution.
