The incident unfolded in Bishalgarh, a town located in the Sepahijala district of the state. According to a press statement released by the Bishalgarh division of the Congress, the victims, Dulal Mia and his son, were confronted by members of the Rautkhala Yuva Sanstha on October 11. The demand placed upon them was an exorbitant sum of Rs 5 lakh as a subscription fee for Durga Puja.
