The state of Tripura has initiated the installation of a 30-megawatt small hydro power plant project. Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha made this announcement.

  Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has announced the commencement of work by Tripura Power Generation Limited (TPGL) for the installation of 30-megawatt small hydropower plants in different locations within the state during a workshop on "Energy Transition of Tripura" held at Hotel Polo Tower. Dr. Saha emphasized the global importance of renewable energy in maintaining a clean environment and conserving resources for future generations. He highlighted India's commitment to promoting renewable energy, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent emphasis on it at the G20 summit. Dr. Saha also mentioned the state's infrastructure development efforts, with a focus on establishing renewable energy centers. Tripura Zoological Park has introduced a 'Pet Bottle Deposit Refund System' to combat plastic waste.

  Sepahijala Zoological Park in Tripura has taken a significant step towards addressing plastic waste by implementing a 'Pet Bottle Deposit Refund System.' This initiative aims to encourage responsible disposal of plastic items by park visitors. Under this system, visitors are required to follow specific rules for items such as Pet Bottles, Single Use Plastic Materials, Packaged Products with plastic wrapping, Tin Cans, and similar products. Visitors must deposit a refundable amount of Rs 10 for each mentioned item at the designated DRS Counter. In return, they receive a corresponding token. Before leaving the zoo premises, visitors must return their PET Bottles, Single Use Plastic Materials, Packaged Products with plastic wrapping, Tin Cans, and similar items, along with their tokens, at the DRS counter to receive a refund of the deposited amount.
