Significant Progress in Tripura under PM Modi's Leadership: MoS Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti

Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, has lauded the substantial progress witnessed in Tripura over the past six years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During a press conference in Agartala, she highlighted the positive developments in various sectors in the state.

Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti expressed that since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office, India has been on a path of progress, including the often-neglected North Eastern states. She noted that prior to Modi's tenure, Union Ministers rarely visited the North East, but his leadership has brought attention to the region, with multiple visits by both Union Ministers and the Prime Minister himself.

During the press conference, the Minister commended Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha and revealed that nearly 90 percent of the funds allocated under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) have been effectively utilized in Tripura. She emphasized that the state has made significant progress in various domains, with various resources being established.

Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti provided a comparative analysis of the central funds allocated for Tripura's development. She pointed out that under MNREGA, Tripura received Rs 4,558 crore between 2006 and 2013-14, whereas, since Prime Minister Modi took office, Rs 8,351 crore has been allocated for the state under the same scheme. The Minister also highlighted the substantial increase in housing construction and the provision of essential amenities such as toilets, cooking gas connections, and drinking water connections, benefitting the underprivileged population in Tripura.

In summary, the Minister's remarks underscored the positive transformation and development witnessed in Tripura under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
