Chief Minister Healthy Childhood- Healthy Adolescence Campaign-5.0 is being launched across the state from September 19
Story By SAM WILLIAM: Agartala ; From the 19th of September to the 3rd of October 2023, a state-wide initiative known as "Chief Minister's Healthy Childhood-Healthy Adolescence Campaign 5.0" will be launched across the state of Tripura. This announcement was made by the honorable Chief Minister of the state, Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, at the illustrious auditorium of Billionaire Sachin Debbarman on September 19, 2023. The campaign's introduction was preceded by a conference held on the 15th of September at the National Health Mission office, where the mission director, Mr. Dik Chakma, along with other dignitaries, including Dr. Sanjay Rudra Pal, State Immunization Officer, and Dr. Mousumi Sarkar, Chief of State Immunization, were present.
The objective of the Chief Minister's Healthy Childhood-Healthy Adolescence Campaign, launched in September 2021, is to ensure the optimal development of children and adolescents in Tripura. It addresses critical issues such as worm infestation, vitamin A deficiency, childhood diarrhea, iron and folic acid deficiency, which have adverse effects on the health of children and adolescents. These health challenges not only hinder children's growth but also impact their educational, physical, and mental development.
To safeguard the health and well-being of children and adolescents, the campaign focuses on the distribution of essential medicines and supplements. By adhering to prescribed treatments and adopting practices such as deworming, vitamin A supplementation, iron and folic acid supplementation, and ensuring tetanus-diphtheria vaccination at ages 10 and 16, the campaign aims to guarantee the health security of children and adolescents.
Furthermore, the campaign promotes comprehensive development, improving the overall quality of life for children and adolescents aged 0 to 19 years. By implementing initiatives under the banner of Chief Minister's Healthy Childhood-Healthy Adolescence Campaign 5.0, schools, anganwadi centers, degree colleges, and vocational training centers will play a pivotal role in reaching out to these young individuals.
