In anticipation of the 12-hour bandh (strike) called by the political party Tipra Motha in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) on September 30, 2023, the Tripura government has issued directives aimed at maintaining normalcy and ensuring law and order in the district council area.

The government's instructions are clear: all offices, government undertakings, and organizations under the State Government within the district council area are expected to operate normally on the day of the bandh. Furthermore, government employees and employees of these entities are required to carry out their duties as usual during this period. The government has emphasized that any breach of these instructions will be taken seriously.

To monitor compliance, all Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Special Secretaries, and Heads of Departments have been tasked with ensuring that these instructions are communicated to all employees under their administrative jurisdiction. Additionally, they are required to submit a report on attendance in various offices, undertakings, and organizations on the day of the bandh to the General Administration (AR) Department by noon on September 30.

Recognizing the potential for disruptions during the bandh, the government has also called upon the Director General of Police to make comprehensive law and order arrangements. This includes ensuring the security and safety of all government offices in the district council areas and taking all necessary precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

The government's proactive stance and directives aim to maintain essential public services and ensure the peaceful conduct of the bandh, allowing citizens to go about their daily activities without undue hindrance while safeguarding public order and safety. This development reflects the government's commitment to strike a balance between democratic rights and the maintenance of law and order during such political events.
