 A contractor named Shyamal Dev was abducted for a tender. Criminals abducted him from the area adjacent to Agartala Uttargate. In a short period of time, the police of West police station rescued the abductor Shyamal Dev by tracking his mobile phone near Fatikrai area, but he was saved when the goons saw the police is coming to them they left him alive and went away but before going they took signature on the surrender paper of the tendered work.  Inverstigation is going on West District Superintendent of Police.

  Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the historical and traditional Kharchi Puja in Agartala on June 26. CM Manik Saha performed traditional rituals in Chaturdasa Devata Temple. Kharchi Puja is one of the biggest festivals in the Northeast. This is the longest festival in North East which continues for 7 days. Lakhs of pilgrims visit Chaturdasa Devata Temple during this festival.

Kharchi Puja is a prominent festival celebrated across Tripura. It is observed on the Shukla Paksha Ashtami (eighth lunar day) day in the month of Ashad, which usually takes place in July. During Kharchi Puja, the people of Tripura worship 14 gods that comprise the dynastic deity of the Tripuri community. The rituals are observed for one week in the temple dedicated to the 14 gods, located in Agartala.   History of Kharchi Puja The word ‘Kharchi’ is derived from two words ‘Khar’ and ‘chi’ which means ‘sin’ and ‘chi’, respectively. So it is a festival where there is a ritual of cleaning the earth. During this festival, the people of Tripura also worship the earth along with their 14 deities. Although Kharchi Puja has tribal origins, it is celebrated by both tribal and non-tribal people of Tripura. There is a popular belief that the mother goddess menstruates during the time of Ambubachi, which is observed in June. It is considered that the earth becomes impure during the mensuration...

Based on a tip-off, the police of East Agartala police station arrested three people, including brown sugar, from Dhaleshwar and Chandrapur areas.

Tripura: Agartala: 9th June 2023, On the basis of secret information, last night the police of the Airport police station recovered nearly three crores worth of caugh syrup after conducting a raid on a car carrying maize on top in the Airport police station area.
